As mentioned before in an article about our Misting Fan Hubs on November 28th 2011, Cloudburst® Misting Systems manufactures and licenses a patented Water Misting Fan Hub to Continental Electric for use on the Windchill® Water Misting Fans. CE has announced that they have just received large orders for a new version of the Windchill® Water Misting Fans, from 2 large mail order companies. This new Water Misting Fan will have many new features but will still use the proven effectiveness of Cloudburst® Misting Systems, Misting Fan Hub.

This is good news for Cloudburst® Misting Systems and all the users of the Windchill™ Water Misting Fans because it brings back the best low cost Water Misting Fan on the market. As we mentioned in our last article, these water misting fans were not available last year due to the closing of our licensee – Windchaser. Many customers where very disappointed and had to purchase lesser quality product or spend a lot more money to get something comparable to the Windchill® Water Misting Fans.

We believe this is just the start of the reintroduction of this popular misting fan and look forward to its rebirth through companies like CE and the customers they sell to.

Also, Cloudburst® Misting Systems has received its first large orders from CE for our new Windchiller™ Personal Hand Held Misting Fan. This personal water mister blows away any of its competition in that it delivers a continuous ultra fine mist (not a wet spray) in front of a high velocity personal fan with just a touch of a button. You will soon be able to purchase it from several stores, mail order houses and on-line stores. Please keep an eye out for it in your area because it is simply the “Best Personal Hand Held Misting Fan Ever Built!”

Winterizing a Cloudburst Misting System® is a very easy and quick process, but you would be surprised how many Misting Pumps and Mist Systems we sell to replace the ones that froze. Even a one night freeze can damage your Misting Pump, bend or bust a Misting Line (even stainless steel mist line) or blow out all your Mist Fittings so that they are useless. This can be a costly problem that can be easily prevented if you take the following steps:

Disconnect and drain your Mist Filter. These crack very easy if frozen.

Drain all water out of your Misting Pump (bring both the misting pump and mist filter inside if you are in an area that freezes a lot).

Disconnect your Mist Line from your pump and from the Misting Fan Rings on any Misting Fans (if used).

Remove all Mist Nozzles and store inside.

If you have access to an air compressor, blow out the Mist Line. If not, then make sure to winterize well before your first freeze so any water left in the mist line can have time to evaporate.

If you take the time to do the above you will eliminate the need for costly repairs next spring. If you do not want to do this yourself we recommend calling a local mist system service company or dealer to do it for you.

Have a safe, wonderful winter and Happy New Year!

Cloudburst Misting Systems® manufactures the best patented misting hub used for low and medium pressure misting fans. For several years we licensed it to a company called Windchaser under the trademarked name the Windchill® Misting Fan. Until its doors closed in 2010, the Windchill Misting Fan was Windchaser’s best selling fans, with over 50,000 fans sold every year to stores and other large retailer like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Costco, Walmart, Frontgate, QVC and most of the other major retailers in the US and abroad. It offered the best low cost option for a home patio misting fan.

The misting hub was engineered to easily attach to the front grill of most fans without interfering with airflow or the look of the fan while delivering a super fine mist to the airflow “sweet spot” of the fan. It holds 4 or 6 brass & stainless steel mist nozzles that produce a very fine mist even at low pressure and is a much better option to the more industrial look of a “mist ring”.

Several years ago the misting hub was paired with a specially designed weather proof UL approved 16 inch indoor/outdoor fan that oscillates and has a powerful motor that moves a lot of air. This fan became trademarked as the Windchill Misting Fan and sold by Windchaser as its number one selling fan for many years. It is designed to easily attach to a standard garden hose and can deliver 40,000 BTUs of cooling. All of this at a retail price of around $100 is why it has been the number one selling home patio misting fan worldwide, for over 10 years. Most other home misting fans in this price range are not UL approved to be used outdoors, cannot deliver the quality of mist ours misting hub produces and do not even come with a GFCI or fused plug like the Windchill®

Since Windchaser closed its doors due to economic problems in 2010, we have granted permission to allow CE to use our Misting Hubs and Fan Design to make a product just as good if not better then the Windchaser version. They will also be adding the misting hub and weather proofing to some of their other fans that offer even more features and style, like 360 degree oscillation. We have also worked out a deal with CE to sell our handheld portable misting fan, the WindChiller™. CE is a large international company that sells a complete line of fans and other home electronics under the line names of KUL®, Continental Electric™, Gym Master Fitness™, himitsu™ and kaisu™ to large retailers around the world. They have offices and factories in many parts of the world including; North, Central and South America, the Caibbean, and Asia. We are excited to be working with them and believe that they will make our unique misting products even more available to the public than in previous years.

Our Patented Hub is also used on misting fans sold by: Schaefer Fans, Cool Draft, Dayton, Greenheck, Grainger, Mistcooling , Cloudmister and others for their portable cooler based rehab misting fans and other non retail store sales.

If you are interested in more information about buying or selling our misting hub or misting fans please contact us.

Drastically reduce the temperature around you with this amazing outdoor misting fan. This 3 speed high velocity fan looks like a normal fan, but has an additional misting feature to help keep you cool. The 16 inch veined axial fan has a 90 degree oscillation range that covers up to 640 square feet of space. It comes with a high velocity 3-speed motor to best suit your cooling needs. It is the perfect item for homeowners, sports teams, contractors, and more. The mist expelled from the 4 nozzle misting hub dramatically reduces the surrounding temperatures and keeps them down. It is UL rated for indoor and outdoor use. The frame can be heightened up to 56 inches to meet. This refreshing fan efficiently keeps temperatures down whether you are indoors or out

High Pressure Misting Systems for Qatar 2022 World Cup? After winning the bid for the 2022 World Cup, partially by promising to have air conditioning to cool the stadiums, Qatar’s leading architect for the venues announced last week that this would be very impractical and too expensive to do on such a large scale.

This of course is true, but it does not solve the problem of trying to hold the most prestigious soccer event in the middle of an oven. Qatar can easily reach 122 degrees during the time the games will be played in June. This could equate to even hotter temperatures inside an open air stadium, such as they plan to build in Qatar, because of the heat absorption effect of all the concrete and metal. This could lead to a big problem for everyone including the players, the fans and the promoters if something is not done about it.

They are now proposing to use wind towers that suck up hot air to create fan-like air movement inside the stadium. This can certainly help a little but only moving air around could come up very short in relieving the real potential of heat related health and other problems, like no one wanting to attend or play.

I understand that trying to cool such a large outdoor venue with air conditioning alone is not very practical and would be very cost prohibitive. But I also know they could do a much better job of keeping these stadiums and the people in them cool, other them by air movement alone. One way that has been proven effective is with mist cooling. Cloudburst has been using high pressure misting systems and misting fans to successfully cool large venues for years, such as the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, College and NFL Football, the Jamarat Bridge in Saudi Arabia, the Mexico City Subway and other large indoor and outdoor areas.

They can either use strategically placed mist lines and misting fans to work with their wind towers to add an evaporative cooling effect of up to 30 degrees throughout the entire stadium or they could place sets of misting fans throughout the Arenas (including on the sidelines), creating cooling stations for the soccer fans and players.

Another good idea would be to offer a personal misting fan for each person attending the games. These have come a long ways from the cheap spray bottles sold at amusement parks and really work to keep someone cooler just about anywhere they go.

Yes, I understand that 2022 is a long ways off but this article is not just about this World Cup and Qatar. It is about the fact that even though misting systems and misting fans are being used more and more for cases like this, there are still so many people (some of them very smart people) that still do not know how effective and energy efficient mist cooling really is. If they did, they may not be trying to cool the outdoors with air conditioning or just leave people to suffer through the heat while tyring to enjoy special events such as the World Cup.

The award is a collaboration of the Los Angeles District Small Business Administration and the Pacific Coast Business Times and endeavors to spotlight companies prospering during these challenging times. With over 70 firms nominated, Cloudburst was proud to be chosen as the Exporter of the Year. Mike Davis, president of Cloudburst said, “We have worked hard to expand our International sales and Dealer Base. This last year we were able to grow our misting business in the Middle East, Australia, Mexico and the Caribbean. We primarily export misting fans, misting pumps, mist nozzles and entire mist systems. Our new line of AC misting systems for pre-cooling air conditioners and cooling towers has been a big export item for us also. It’s a big hot world out there – someone has to cool it”.

We believe this new interest is because more and more visitors from the southern parts of the world are visiting places that utilize much more of the cooling effect of misting fans and other mist cooling products. They are then bringing the idea back home with them where they are quick to realize that this effective outdoor patio misting and indoor warehouse cooling method can work for them too.

After 3 years of design and testing Cloudburst® Misting Systems, Inc. has developed the most advanced personal misting fans ever made – the WindChiller®. It works off of a hand pressurized tank that sends an 80 psi ultra fine mist to a brass and stainless steel replaceable mist nozzle that is placed above and in front of the child proof high speed fan blade. The result is a very refreshing mist (not a wet spray and/or drips like many of the cheaper ones offer) that can give hours of real cooling to the user where ever they go.

This is just one of the many new products in our vast line of Mist Cooling Systems that sets us apart as one of the world’s leading misting system and misting fan manufacturers of today. For more information about this advancement in portable, hand held misting fans visit: windchiller.com

Cloudburst® Misting Systems, Inc. (a leading USA mist systems manufacturer) working with there Authorized Dealer in Saudi Arabia “Art Contracting Co. ltd.” designed, built and installed a custom USA made high pressure mist system that included 90 custom designed high velocity mister fans utilizing concentric 24 nozzle mist rings all powered by four 30 gallon per minute high pressure mister pumps. The project used the misting system to create a safer and more comfortable environment for 3 million people each day that crossed the newly constructed Jamarat Bridge as the participated in the 2010 Hajj. The misting fans where custom designed to throw a cooling mist about 180 feet each, without getting anyone or thing wet – just cool.

Once in each Muslims life they participate in a religious ritual know as the Hajj which takes place in Mecca and Medina, Saudi Arabia once every year. Cloudburst® Misting Systems and Art Contracting were selected to provide relief from the extremely high temperatures that can be dangerous or even deadly for some the 3 million Muslims from all over the world that are not acclimated to the searing heat. As part of a $1.3 billion dollar construction project the designers of the Jamarat Bridge knew the only feasible type of cooling was to use the power of mist cooling with high power Misting Fans. Coming in on time and on budget the participants of the 2010 Hajj were safer and cooler thanks to the dramatic cooling effects of this custom high pressure misting fan system.

With simple maintenance, this unique misting system will provide a cooler and safer environment for decades.

The energy (heat) that is used to produce this state change is removed from the atmosphere. This is commonly known as evaporative cooling and misting systems combined with misting fans are by far the most effective form of this type of cooling. Note: A properly installed high pressure misting system and/or misting fan will not get you wet – just cool. Read more→

Fall is fast approaching which means for some of us cooler weather is right around the corner or already here and for others it means that we still have 1 to 2 month of warm to HOT weather, but for all of us it means – IT IS FOOTBALL SEASON! And Football season means: NFL, College & High School practice & games, plus TAILGATING. Why do we bring this up now? Because many of you football fans, players & coaches will be looking for a way to stay cool during the hot part of your season and Cloudburst has many ways to accomplish this. One of the most effective ways is with the use of a Portable or Sideline Misting Fan System. These work by combining a High Pressure or Mid Pressure pump & water tank with a misting fan that can be plugged in almost anywhere including a 12 volt inverter or generator, allowing you to use them in very remote locations. There are also specific Sideline Misting Kits that can run several fans at a time.

Why a Misting Fan? Because they are “hands down” the most effective way to cool an outdoor area. In fact, when you combine mist with the high velocity air movement of a fan you can expect up to a 30 degree decrease in temperature. This will not only keep you more comfortable but it can also keep you from having a very bad day because of heat exhaustion.

So whether you want to stay cool while enjoying your favorite drink & food in the parking lot before the “Big Game” or want to keep your players cool & healthy during practice or a game, there are effective mist cooling systems available to help you.

Please take a moment to look through our website for a complete line of Misting Fans & Mist Systems that can help you stay cool and avoid the heat stress that affects several hundred fans & players each year. For specific discounts and more information on Mist Systems related to this article, please check out: Sideline Misting Fans, Portable Fans, Portable Fans w/tanks & Misting Fan Kits

Good luck to your favorite teams & Enjoy a fun and safe season!
